Troubleshooting MinuteView ↔ Autodesk Vault Account Linking

This page outlines the different approaches you can use to create and link a MinuteView account with your Autodesk Vault account. If you are having trouble logging in or linking accounts, follow the guidance below.

1. Logging in with Autodesk Vault

If you are trying to access MinuteView via the Autodesk Vault Login button:

1. Check group membership

   • You must belong to a Vault group that has already been imported into MinuteView.
   • If you are not part of an imported Vault group, you will not be able to log in.

2. Login process

   • On the MinuteView login page, choose Autodesk Vault Login.
   • Enter your Autodesk Vault credentials.
   • If successful:
     • A new MinuteView user account will be created automatically.
     • That account will be linked to your Autodesk Vault account.

2. Creating a MinuteView Account Manually

If the automatic login doesn’t work, you can create a MinuteView account manually:

1. Navigate to Console → User Management.
2. Click Create New User.
3. Assign a username and password.
4. Provide these credentials to the user who needs access.

The user can now log in using the MinuteView Login option with the credentials you created.

3. Linking Autodesk Vault Manually

Once a user is logged in with their MinuteView credentials:

1. Go to the user dropdown in the top right corner.
2. Select Link Vault Account.
3. Enter your Autodesk Vault username and password.
4. Login

This will manually link the MinuteView account with the Vault account.

To Validate, navigate to console/User management and click on the user account, it should now be linked to the vault account

• “Unable to log in with Vault account”
  → Check that your Vault group is imported into MinuteView.

• “MinuteView account created, but Vault not linked”
  → Use the manual linking process described above.

• “Still cannot log in”
  → Verify SSL certificates and firewall policies if in a locked-down environment.
